How Often Should You Service your Rolex?

What goes into the service Rolex process?

When you send your Rolex in for servicing, it is important for you to realize how in-depth and intricate the service Rolex process is. You need to make sure you select a Rolex service that has the experience and tools necessary to smoothly tune-up your watch. To give you an idea of the process, I have outlined what goes into to our most common Rolex Service process (the Pandora Jewelers Rolex Overhaul):

Our Service Rolex Overhaul Includes:

• Service Rolex Step 1: The movement is taken apart and put in a special cleaning solution.

• Service Rolex Step 2: Each part is painstakingly cleaned using a special cleaning solution and precision instruments.

• Service Rolex Step 3: Once all the parts have been cleaned, the movement is re-oiled and put back together.

• Service Rolex Step 4: The back gasket is replaced.

• Service Rolex Step 5: The watch is then timed. Our watchmaker uses a sophisticated, computerized timer to ensure that the watch is running accurately. If it is not, he will recalibrate it accordingly.

• Service Rolex Step 6: The watch is then pressure-tested to ensure that there are no water leaks and the watch is safe to dive with.

• Service Rolex Step 7: The case and band are then polished using a specialized polishing wheel to ensure that the entire watch and each link are properly polished.

• Service Rolex Step 8: After that, your watch is monitored for a few days to ensure it is keeping accurate time.

Each of these steps is done by our master Rolex technician, and as you can see, require a significant amount of skill. Any time you have your Rolex serviced, be sure to select a vendor who is willing to do all of these essential processes.
